Neitzel, Wulff Announced as MSU's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Winners
Michigan State University graduates Drew Neitzel and Alisa Wulff were recognized as Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winners, announced by the conference office on Wednesday. The Spartan pair were among the 22 Big Ten student-athletes, one male and one female selection per school, who were chosen from a group of 275 student-athletes honored throughout the academic year.

Spartans Draw Georgia Tech in ACC/Big Ten Women's Challenge
The Michigan State women's basketball team will face Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga., on Wednesday, Dec. 3 in the second annual ACC/Big Ten Women's Challenge. It will mark the first-ever series meeting between the two schools. The Spartans won their inaugural game in the challenge last year with a 68-51 victory over Clemson in the Breslin Center.

Women's Basketball 2007-08 Season in Review
The 2007-08 Michigan State women's basketball team - the youngest in the Big Ten - earned a postseason bid for the seventh straight year, advanced to the championship game of the WNIT, and tied for the fourth-winningest season (23 victories) in program history. The Spartans collected their fifth straight 20-win season against one of the toughest schedules in the country, and won 10 conference games for the sixth straight season. Allyssa DeHaan set a Big Ten single-season record with 150 blocked shots and was named a first-team All-Big Ten selection by the media.

Women's Basketball Adds to Signing Class, Inks Taylor Johnson to National Letter of Intent
Michigan State women's basketball head coach Suzy Merchant announced Thursday the signing of Taylor Johnson (Lakewood, Colo./Highlands Ranch High School) to a National Letter of Intent. Johnson joins Porschč Poole (Canton, Ohio/McKinley High School) and Courtney Schiffauer (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman High School), who signed NLIs in the fall. All three signees will be eligible to play for the Spartans beginning in the 2008-09 season.

Women's Basketball Hands Out Annual Awards
The Michigan State women's basketball team handed out its annual awards Sunday night at the Kellogg Center on the campus of Michigan State University. Sophomore center Allyssa DeHaan and freshman forward Kalisha Keane were named co-players of the year.

Spartans Fall to Marquette in WNIT Championship Game, 81-66
Michigan State fell to Marquette, 81-66, in the WNIT championship game Saturday afternoon before a crowd of 7,818 at the Breslin Center. Kalisha Keane led all scorers with a career-high 24 points, while Mia Johnson and Allyssa DeHaan each scored 11. MSU finishes the season with a 23-14 record.

Spartans to Play for WNIT Title Saturday Against Marquette
The Michigan State women's basketball team will look for its first-ever WNIT title as it hosts the 2008 championship game against Marquette Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Breslin Center. The Spartans defeated Bowling Green, Kansas, Michigan and North Carolina State en route to the final game of the 48-team tournament, while the Golden Eagles beat Creighton, Illinois, Kentucky and Colorado. The game, which marks just the second meeting between the two schools, will be televised on the CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV).
