Spartan Baseball Announces Fall Signees

EAST LANSING, MICH. - Michigan State head baseball coach Ted Mahan announced the signing of four recruits to National Letters of Intent to play baseball at Michigan State University for the 2000-01 school year.
James Moreno is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound infielder from Holt High School who bats and throws right-handed. Moreno is a three-sport athlete who in baseball has been all-league three consecutive years, all-district as a sophomore and junior and all-state as a junior. He was also named the Lansing State Journal Player of the Year for the 1999 season.
David Miller hails from Whitehall High School. Miller is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound pitcher and outfielder who bats and throws left-handed. Miller was named to the Class B All-State first team his junior season.
Scott Koerber, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound pitcher and first baseman from Grosse Pointe North High School is another recruit that bats and throws lefthanded. Koerber was named to the 1999 M.H.S.A.A. Dream Team, as well as first team all-state for Class A.
The Spartans round out their class of early signees with Bryan Gale, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound righthanded pitcher from Decater High School. Gale led Decater to a state championship in 1999.
