East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State field hockey player Bridget Cooper has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after her performance in two conference games last weekend. Cooper, a freshman forward, tallied the game-winner in road games against Northwestern and Iowa. The wins give MSU back-to-back victories in the Big Ten for the first time since 1987.
A native of Winnetka, Ill., Cooper now has seven goals and 14 points on the season.
The Spartans, who are 6-6 overall and 2-1 in the conference, host a pair of games this weekend. They take on No. 6 Penn State Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Duffy Daugherty Indoor Facility, then face No. 8 Ohio State at 1 p.m. Sunday in Spartan Stadium.
