Michigan State Women's Tennis Team is Defeated by Wisconsin

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team was defeated by Wisconsin, 4-3, on Saturday, March 27, at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. The loss gave MSU a 10-5 overall record (1-3 Big Ten).
The Spartans got off to a good start, winning two out of three matches to take the doubles point. At the No. 2 position, senior Brooke West and sophomore Kelli Hayes defeated Wisconsin's Andrea Nathan and Dena Baritot, 9-8. The Spartan duo of junior Brooke Townsend and sophomore Natasha Skogerboe defeated Katy Dougherty and Debbie Reynolds, 9-8, at the No. 3 position. In singles, Hayes led Michigan State at the No. 4 position, earning a victory over Dena Baritot, 7-5, 3-6, 6-2. MSU's other win in singles came from senior Jaime Tannenbaum, who defeated Vanessa Rauh, 6-2, 3-6, 7-5.
