PLANTE NAMED BIG TEN CO-GYMNAST OF THE WEEK

EAST LANSING, Mich.- - The Spartans' Jonathan Plante (So., Easton, PA) was named co-Big Ten Athlete of the Week along with Ohio State's Jamie Natalie for his record breaking performance against Ohio State on January 19. Plante scored a school record 9.950 on the pommel horse.
MSU's leading gymnast in all-around competition this year is freshman Brad Golden (Orlando, Fla.), who is averaging 54.850. The men are still seeking their first Big Ten victory of the season. Last week, the Spartans dropped a home meet to No. 1 ranked Ohio State.
The men's gymnastics team will travel to Illinois Saturday, January 26 to take on Illinois. This weekend's meet will be co-ed, with the MSU women's gymnastics team making the trip to Illinois as well.
