Women's Cross Country Takes Fourth At Paul Short

EAST LANSING, MICH. - The Michigan State women's cross country team finished fourth at the 27th annual Paul Short Invitational this weekend. Villanova claimed its sixth Paul Short title finishing with 58 points. Cornell (81), Georgetown (119), Michigan State (145) and St. Joesph's (227) rounded out the top five finishers.
Toledo's Tuula Laitinen won the 6K competition in a time of 20:26.20. MSU's top finisher was junior Ann Somerville (Ironwood, Mich.)who placed third with a time of 21:14.62. The freshmen duo of Jamie Kryzminski (Corunna, Mich.) and Michelle Carson (Winnipeg, Ont.) finished fourth and ninth respectively. Kryzminski finished with a time of 21:22.05, while Carson recorded a time of 21:43.86.
