SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. - The Michigan State women's golf team is currently in seventh place at the Pine Needles Golf Invitational, hosted by Rollins College at the Pine Needles Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The Spartans are 16 strokes behind the leader, Alabama, with a score of 307. Alabama has a score of 291.
Junior Stacy Snider (Grand Rapids, Mich.) is the currently the Spartan team leader with a score of 74. Snider is only 4 strokes off the tournament leader, Meagan Francella of the University of Memphis. Following close behind Snider is junior Emily Bastel (Upper Sandusky, Ohio) with a first round score of 75.
The Spartans continue play tomorrow and Wednesday at 8 a.m.
