Notes:
* Each of the last 43 on-campus Michigan State-Michigan games have been sold out, since a crowd of 8,011 attended a game at Yost Ice Arena on Nov. 8, 1985 (capacity was 8,100 at the time).
* 11 of the last 13 meetings have been decided by two goals or less.
* MSU was outshot for the first time in 14 games, since Michigan did in the championship game of the Great Lakes Invitational.
* SR D Brad Hodgins leads the team with seven goals on the season. MSU defensemen have combined for 23 goals this year after totaling 13 goals all of last year.
* SR C Shawn Horcoff scored his 11th goal of the season and his second short-handed. Horcoff has a hand in 51 of MSU's 105 goals on the year (48.6 percent), the highest percentage of any player in the nation.
* MSU has scored eight short-handed goals on the year and only allowed 17 power-play goals. In CCHA play, the Spartans have scored seven short-handed goals and only allowed nine power-play goals.
