Women's Tennis Blanked By Michigan, 7-0

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team was shut out by Michigan, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. The loss drops the Spartans to 2-8 overall, 0-4 in the Big Ten, while the Wolverines improve to 6-5, 1-3.
Michigan won all six singles matches on the afternoon, and won the doubles point with victories in two of three doubles matches.
Junior Kelli Hayes (Munster, Ind.) and freshman Mollie Hood (Bellaire, Mich.) teamed up at No. 2 doubles for MSU's only win of the afternoon, an 8-6 triumph over Brooke Hart and Joanne Musgrove.
Michigan State heads to Western Michigan this week for a March 28 dual match, beginning a string of five consecutive road matches for the Spartans.
