Hockey Stands Ninth In Polls

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State hockey enters the postseason ranked ninth in the nation in the polls released Monday evening.
The Spartans remained in ninth in the U.S. College Hockey Online Poll and slipped one spot to ninth in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Coaches Poll. Last weekend MSU tied (2-2) and won (5-3) in a home-and-home series against Notre Dame.
Wisconsin held on to the top spot in both polls, while North Dakota moved up to No. 2 after Boston University's 6-2 loss to Boston College Sunday night.
Michigan State is 23-10-4 overall (18-8-2 CCHA) entering the CCHA Tournament. The Spartans, who finished second in the CCHA, host ninth-seeded Miami this Friday, Saturday and (if necessary) Sunday at Munn Ice Arena. Tickets ($14 public, $6 students) are available at the MSU Athletic Ticket Office or by calling 800-GO STATE.
