Men's Golf Finishes Eighth at The Border Olympics

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's golf team tied for eighth place at the Border Olympics after shooting 309-302-297=908 at the par 72, 7,125 yard Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas. Baylor won the tournament with a score of 296-293-293=882.
Freshman Eric Jorgensen (Big Rapids, Mich.) finished the tournament in a five-way tie for sixth place. Jorgensen's 75-72-74=221 was his best three-round total of the year.
Three MSU golfers tied for 45th place. Junior Brent Goik (Bay City, Mich.) shot 80-75-73=228, which put him in a tie for 28th place. Carlos Foulquie (Sr., Madrid, Spain) shot 79-79-75=233, Dennis Riedel (Jr., St. Clair, Mich.) shot 75-81-77=233 and Lorne Don (Fr., Toronto, Ont.) fired an 80-78-75=233. Nathan Clark (So., Mason, Mich.) shot 80-77-77=234.
MSU will return to action April 7-8 at the Marshall Invitational in Huntington, West Virginia.
