Mike Pisani Named To Academic District IV Baseball Team

East Lansing, Mich. - Senior Mike Pisani (Rochester, Mich.) was one of 11 student-athletes named to the GTE/CoSIDA All-Academic District IV baseball team on May 11 as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Pisani majored in general business and earned a 3.74 cumulative grade-point average for his career. This is the second Spartan in consecutive years to earn honors, as former MSU catcher Joe Kalczynski was named to the team last season.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale). He must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing.
District IV includes all schools within the states of Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and Michigan.
The names of the 11 student-athletes will appear on the GTE Academic All-America national ballot. The GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America Baseball team will be announced on June 6, 2000.
