EAST LANSING, Mich. -
The Michigan State crew has added University of Rhode Island novice coach Stacey Rippetoe to its staff as an assistant coach. MSU head coach Bebe Bryans chose Rippetoe, a 1997 Rutgers University graduate, to replace Maggie Romens, an MSU assistant coach for the past two seasons.
Rippetoe joins the Spartans after three years as the Rhode Island novice coach, where she also worked with the varsity crew. Before coaching at Rhode Island, Rippetoe was an associate coach for the Narragansett Boat Club and the head rowing coach for Navesink River Rowing Program.
Previous to her coaching experience, Rippetoe rowed for the Rutgers varsity crew (1994-97), which finished fourth at the NCAA Championship Regatta in June 1997.
