Men's Soccer Ties Kentucky in Exhibition

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's soccer team opened the 2000 season with a double-overtime, scoreless tie in their first and only exhibition game on Sunday, August 27 against the Kentucky Wildcats at Old College Field.
Midfielder Steve Arce (Jr., Windsor, Ont.) recorded five shots against the Wildcats' Brian O'Leary but never found the net. Sophomore goal keeper Tyler Robinson (Lansing, MI) made two saves, as he split time with fellow keepers T.J. Lieckfelt (Sr., Sterling Heights, MI) and Mike Robinson (Fr., Troy, MI). The Spartans recorded 18 shots while the Wildcats recorded seven.
MSU's will open the regular season Friday, September 1 at 2:00 p.m. when they host Quinnipiac.
