Michigan State Rower Honored By US Rowing

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State crew junior Krista Buzzell (Fenton, Mich.) was a unanimous selection on the 2000 US Rowing Collegiate Honor Roll First Team released August 11. Buzzell was recognized for her excellence in both academics and rowing, as well as her participation in extra curricular activities last year.
In order to be considered for the award, the athlete must have rowed in a boat that raced at a league championship and earned a minimum of a 3.2 cumulative grade point average. Last season Buzzell was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree and was also named a National Scholar-Athlete by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association for maintaining a 3.84 GPA in physical science. Buzzell rowed in the MSU varsity eight, which placed eighth at the 2000 NCAA Championships.
