Spartan Invitational Marks Start Of Cross Country Season

EAST LANSING, MICH. - The Michigan State men's cross country team is opening the season hosting the Spartan Invitational. Currently, the MSU men are ranked 18th in the country by USCCCA and MONDO polls.
Joining the Spartans in the event will be Edinboro University, Hillsdale College, MacComb Community College, Roberts Wesylan College and Loyola (Chicago).
"It's a nice opener for us," said Head Coach Jim Stintzi. "I am anxious to see the team in competition and I'm hoping that this will be a tune-up to good things."
This meet is the Spartans only home event of the season and will be held at Forest Akers East golf course. The men's college portion of the meet is slated to begin at 11a.m., with the women running at 11:50a.m.
