Women's Soccer Stays Undefeated With OT Win.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State womens soccer team downed the Western Michigan Broncos 1-0 in overtime on Wednesday in Kalamazoo. The win improves Michigan State's record to 5-0, tying the best start in the school history. The Spartans also got off to a fast start in 1992 when they began the season 5-0.
Spartan freshman Kristi Arrington (Novi) scored at 97:20 on a header from senior Gina Dawson (Bloomfield Hills). It was Arrington's second goal of the season. MSU goalkeeper Sara Kloosterman (Sr., Farmington Hills) made two saves in the victory as the Spartans outshot the Broncos 3-0 in overtime and 20-4 for the game.
Michigan State will try to extend their winning streak this Sunday, Sept. 10, when the Spartans visit Eastern Michigan at 2 p.m. Their next home action will take place Sunday, Sept. 17, when they host Ohio State at 3 p.m. at Old College Field.
