Women's Golf Sits In Seventh At Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Michigan State women's golf team sits in seventh place after day two of the Lady Paladin Invitational Saturday, Oct. 27. MSU improved three places from Friday's 10th-place finish with a 311-303-614 score. Auburn leads the tournament by two strokes with a 299-300-599, while Wake Forest holds the No. 2 spot with a 299-302-601.
The Spartans lead Big Ten teams in Greenville. Ohio State is in eighth through 36 holes (302-316-618), while Purdue sits in ninth (309-311-620).
Senior Emily Bastel (Upper Sandusky, Ohio/Upper Sandusky) improved to a tie for fifth at the Lady Paladin Invitational after finishing tied for 15th Friday. Bastel shot a 76-73-149. Louisiana State's Meredith Duncan leads the tournament with a 72-71-143, while Wake Forest's Nuria Clau is in second (72-73-145).
Sophomore Sarah Martin (Grosse Ile, Mich./Grosse Ile) carded a 78-75-153 to tie for 17th in the second round. Senior Stacy Snider (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grandville) sits in a tie for 23rd with a 77-77-154. Junior Allison Fouch (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) is tied for 49th (80-78-158), while junior Jessica Till (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) is tied for 76th with a 80-83-163.
Golf action at the Lady Paladin Invitational will continue tomorrow at 8 a.m.
