Spartan Baseball Set To Begin 2001 Campaign

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State baseball team will travel to Troy, Ala., this weekend to take on Troy State (7-4) in its first three games of the year. The Spartans and Trojans will play at 3 p.m. Friday, February 23, Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. All times are EST.

Junior Dylan Putnam (Ann Arbor) will pitch the opener on Friday, with junior Kyle Geswein (Dayton, Ohio) throwing Saturday and senior Scott Brandell (DeWitt) pitching the third game of the series on Sunday.

Last season, the Spartans went 20-36 overall with a Big Ten record of 9-18.
