MSU Gymnast Receives Big Ten Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Junior Jonathan Plante (Easton, Pa.) was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week on Wednesday, February 28. Plante, ranked first on the pommel horse nationally according to Gym Info, has a two score average of 9.350. Plante has won the pommel horse competition in four of the Spartans' five meets this season.
On Saturday, February 24, against No. 13 Illinois-Chicago, Plante tied his season-high pommel horse score of 9.650, recording his second consecutive victory in the event. Plante also took second on the parallel bars (8.750) and third on the still rings (9.050) en route to a first place finish in the all-around with a score of 52.250.
