MSU Men's Tennis Team Travels to Ball State

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's tennis team will face Ball State on Saturday, March 17 in Muncie, Ind.

Freshman Eric Simonton (Annandale, N.J.) leads the team with a 13-9 singles record. Following close behind is fellow freshman Chris Mitchell (Ann Arbor, Mich.) with a 10-11 singles record. The pair also lead the team in doubles with a record of 7-4.

On its spring break trip, MSU fell to Jacksonville, 5-2, and South Florida, 7-0. Simonton and freshman Mike Hodge (Grand Rapids, Mich.) scored all of the Spartans points on the trip. Simonton defeated Addams England of Jacksonville, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 2 singles, while Hodge defeated Jeff Lewis at No. 5 singles (6-1, 6-2).
