MSU Men's Tennis Team Travels to Louisville

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's tennis team will face Louisville on Monday, March 19 in Louisville, Ky.

On Saturday, March 17 at Ball State sophomores Jason Chen (Okemos, Mich.) and Rodrigo Abucham (Sao Paulo, Brazil) paired at No. 3 doubles to defeat Andrew Seni and Kevin Burnett of Ball State (9-8), the only victory for the Spartans.

Abucham challenged his opponent at No. 5 singles by taking him to three sets, only to be dropped by Jason Pressel 4-6, 7-6, 6-3. Other Spartans taking their opponents to three sets were freshmen Mike Jonckheere (London, Ont.) and Eric Simonton (Annandale, N.J.). Jonckheere was defeated by Chris Varga (4-6, 6-4, 6-2) at No. 4 singles, while Simonton was defeated by Michael Westerhof (7-6, 6-7, 6-3) at No. 1 singles.
