MSU Men's Tennis Team Fell to No. 17 Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Michigan State men's tennis team fell to the 17th-ranked Fighting Illini, 7-0, Sunday, March 25 at Atkins Tennis Center in Champaign, Illinois.
Playing his second match at No. 6 singles, sophomore Jason Chen (Okemos, Mich.) was dropped by Ben Schreiber 6-4, 6-4. At No. 2 singles, sophomore Adam Hourani (Lansing, Mich.) was defeated by Michael Calkins, 6-3, 6-0. Freshman Mike Hodge (Grand Rapids, Mich.) played his second career match at No. 1 singles only to be defeated by Philip Stolt, 6-0, 6-2.
The Spartans (6-11, 0-3 Big Ten) return home to begin a four-match home stretch, beginning with Wisconsin on Saturday, March 31 at 12:00 p.m.
