COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Spartan men's gymnastics team won a triangular meet on Thursday, March 9, with a score of 210.500 to defeat Stanford (205.150) and Air Force (203.700) at the US Air Force Academy.
Junior Jonathan Plante (Easton, Pa.) won the all-around (52.850) and the pommel horse (9.650) and took fourth on the parallel bars (8.650). Sophomore Brad Golden (Orlando, Fla.) won the floor (9.200), finished second on vault (9.050) and third on high bar (8.750). Junior Marc Chiappetta (Mundelein, Ill.) took second on the rings (9.350) and Russell Young (Poland, Ohio) was runner-up on the pommel horse (9.050).
The Spartans return to action on March 10 against Iowa at 8 p.m. in Jenison Field House.
