Men's Tennis Drops Match To Iowa, 5-2

IOWA CITY, Iowa- The Michigan State men's tennis team fell to Iowa, 5-2, in Iowa City on Saturday, April 14. Although Michigan State lost the doubles point, the Spartans won two of the six singles matches.
At the No. 3 position, MSU sophomore Adam Hourani (Lansing) defeated Iowa's Petar Mandic, 6-0, 6-4, 7-6. Also winning a match for the Spartans was freshman Mike Hodge (Grand Rapids), who defeated Tom Buetikofer, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 at the No. 6 position.
Michigan State sophomore Goran Topalo (Prague/Czech Rep.) and sophomore Jimmy McGuire (Columbus, Ohio) both took their respective singles matches to three sets before falling to their opponents.
The Spartans next competition will be against Purdue at home on Saturday, April 21 at 12 p.m.
