Andreas And Ishbia Earn Academic All-Big Ten Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Big Ten Conference announced its winter sports Academic All-Big Ten honorees on Tuesday, April 3. Among Michigan State's 35 honorees were two members of the Spartans' Big Ten Champion men's basketball program, Jason Andreas and Mat Ishbia.
Andreas, a 6-10 redshirt freshman from Sugarcreek, Ohio, posted a 3.60 GPA in General Business Administration. On the season, Andreas appeared in 24 games, averaging 0.5 points and 1.0 rebounds per contest. At the team's annual awards banquet, Andreas was given both the Scholar-Athlete Award and the Most Improved Player Award.
Ishbia, a 5-10 redshirt sophomore from Bloomfield, Mich., earned a 3.44 cumulative GPA in Finance. A 2000 Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Ishbia appeared in 17 games during the 2000-01 season. He averaged 0.3 points and 0.4 rebounds.
