Four Spartan Gymnasts Receive Academic All-America Recognition

EAST LANSING, Mich. -
Four members of the Michigan State women's gymnastics team have been named Academic All-Americans for the 2000-01 school year by the National Association of College Gymnastics Coaches for Women.
Ilene Cohen (Wantagh, N.Y.) earned a 4.0 grade point average in human biology during her sophomore year to lead the Spartan contingent. Other members of the squad who were recognized include: Katie Dama (Lansing), who posted a 3.69 GPA during her freshman year in elementary education, Dana Herr (Phoenixville, Pa.), who finished with a 3.64 GPA during her freshman season, and Meredith Reavill (Novi), who earned a 3.63 GPA in kinesiology during her junior season.
In addition, the women's gymnastics team finished the 2001 spring semester with a 3.397 team grade point average, which was the highest team GPA of any varsity athletic squad at Michigan State for the spring semester.
