Men's Soccer Faces Off Against Broncos

EAST LANSING, Mich - - The Michigan State University men's soccer team will host Western Michigan on Wednesday (Oct. 22) at Old College Field at 2:30 p.m. EDT. The Spartans (8-3-2, 2-1-2) are coming off a 4-3 conference win against Penn State on Sunday. With the win, the Spartans moved into third place in the Big Ten standings, behind Michigan and Indiana.
Michigan State sophomore midfielder Ryan McMahen (Munster, Ind.) was named Big Ten player of the Week (Oct. 20). He received the honor after posting one goal and three assists against Penn State. McMahen also scored three consecutive game-winning goals in double overtime earlier in the season in games against Loyola, Oakland, and Ohio State. He is currently tied for second on the team in total points with 18.
McMahen has teamed with forwards Thomas Trivelloni (Sr., Mt. Clemens) and John Minagawa-Webster (Jr., Monroe) to lead the Spartans offensive attack. The trio has combine to record 51 of MSU's 73 points and 20 of the 25 goals.
The Spartans hit the road for their last Big Ten game at Wisconsin (Oct. 26), before returning home to finish the regular season with two home games against Bowling Green (Oct. 31) and Notre Dame (Nov. 2).
