Hockey Inks Two To National Letters Of Intent

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State hockey coach Rick Comley has inked two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2004-05 season. Forward Peder Skinner and defenseman Daniel Vukovic will join the Spartan hockey program next fall.
"We are working on upgrading our speed, talent and puck skills," said Comley. "With the addition of Peder and Daniel, I believe that we have accomplished that goal."
Peder Skinner, F, 5-8, 160, Shoots: L, Birthday: July 11, 1986; Mississauga, Ont./St. Michael's Buzzers (OPJHL)
Is in his second season with the St. Michael's Buzzers of the Ontario Provincial Junior "A" Hockey League ... Appeared in 41 games in 2002-03, posting 16-14-50 totals ... Has played in 24 games to date (as of Nov. 9), totaling 16-26-42 points ... Has two game winners ... His 42 points ranks second on St. Mike's ... Teammate of Spartan recruit Daniel Vukovic ... Prior to St. Mike's, played in the Minor-Midget Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL).
Comley on Skinner: "Peder is a highly skilled forward. He is only about 5-8, but he skates and moves the puck well. He knows how to distribute the puck and has a way of making the other players around him better."

Is in his second season with the St. Michael's Buzzers of the Ontario Provincial Junior "A" Hockey League ... Appeared in 42 games in 2002-03, adding 15-15-30 totals ... Also finished with 68 penalty minutes ... Has played in 19 games to date (as of Nov. 9), posting 3-11-14 totals .... Also has 39 penalty minutes ... Teammate of Spartan recruit Peder Skinner ... Prior to St. Mike's, played in the Minor-Midget Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL).
Comley on Vukovic: "He is a young, talented defenseman. He has excellent skills, sees the ice extremely well and is a physical player. He is a very well-rounded player as he can play on either the power play or penalty kill."
