COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Michigan State men's golf team finished 10th out of 18 teams Sunday (April 13) at the Robert Kepler Invitational, played at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course. The Spartans carded a three-round team score of 917 (309-302-306). Tournament Champion and host Ohio State shot a score of 893 (297-294-302). Toledo's Brad Heaven captured medallist honors, as he fired a final score of 219 (74-69-76).
Michigan State was led by senior All-American Eric Jorgensen (Big Rapids, Mich.), who carded a final score of 224 (75-73-76), good for a share of 13th-place overall. Junior Casey Lubahn (Sand Lake, Mich.) shot a tournament score of 231 (78-75-78) and tied for 36th-place. Rising sophomore Andrew Ruthkoski (Muskegon, Mich.) also recorded a 231 (75-80-76) and tied for 36th-place.
Junior Ben Fox (Fort Wayne, Ind.) shot a final score of 234 (84-74-76) while senior co-captain John Koskinen (Baraga, Mich.) finished with a score of 250 (81-82-87).
The Spartans return to action April 26-27 at the Bruce Fossum/TaylorMade Invitational at Forest Akers West Golf Course, located on the campus of Michigan State University. The Bruce Fossum/TaylorMade Invitational is Michigan State's annual home men's golf tournament.
