Spartan Hockey Releases 2003-04 Television Schedule

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State has released its televised schedule for the 2003-04 hockey season. The Spartans will make a minimum of five appearances on Fox Sports Detroit Net throughout the season and appear on Comcast Cable (Lansing/East Lansing area only) on 14 occasions. In addition, MSU will make one appearance on both Fox Sports Net North and CSTV during the season.
Michigan State will make at least five appearances on Fox Sports Detroit, starting with a Friday, Dec. 5 match-up at Michigan. The Feb. 21 Nebraska-Omaha match-up also will be shown on FSD, along with the Feb. 7 (Lake Superior State) and March 6 (Michigan) games at Joe Louis Arena. Fox Sports Net Detroit also will provide additional television coverage during the annual Great Lakes Invitational, Dec. 27-28 and for the CCHA Championships.
Matt Shepard and Ken Daniels will share play-by-play duties throughout the season for Fox Sports Detroit. Fred Pletsch serves as an analyst and Shireen Saski will be the rinkside reporter. As a whole, Fox Sports Detroit will televise 13 Central Collegiate Hockey Association contests. Fox Sports Net is available to more than 3.5 million cable and satellite households throughout Michigan and portions of Northwest Ohio and Northern Indiana.
In addition to his game telecast duties, Daniels will serve as host of "CCHA Weekly," a 30-minute magazine which provides in-depth coverage of the league, including behind-the-scene looks into the day-to-day lives of the league and its teams. The show begins its 10-week run on Jan. 23 on Fox Sports Net Detroit.
Comcast Cable will televise 14 games in the greater Lansing area - the most ever for Comcast this season. Eric Peasley will handle play-by-play duties and will be joined by analyst Joe Campbell.
In addition, CSTV will televise the Oct. 31 Ferris State game at Munn Ice Arena, while Fox Sports Net North will show the Nov. 28 Minnesota contest.
