Getting To Know The Spartan Hockey Freshmen

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State hockey welcomes seven freshmen to its 2004-05 roster this season. For the rookies, this year will bring many new challenges both on and off of the ice as they begin their first season of collegiate hockey. As they become more acquainted with their Spartan hockey teammates and learn their roles on the ice, the seven freshmen will be looked upon to play integral roles in Michigan State's quest to win an NCAA championship.
As the season opener draws near, msuspartans.com will introduce the freshman one-by-one, giving fans a glimpse into the personalities of these future Spartan hockey stars.
In this installment, we feature the forward Chris Mueller.
Meet... Chris Mueller.
Hometown: West Seneca, N.Y.
Middle Name: Michael
Favorite Ice Cream: Mint Chocolate Chip.
Favorite Restaurant: I've got two, the French Pub and Coles. Coles is back in Buffalo.
Favorite TV Show: Sportscenter.
Favorite Sportscenter Anchor: I don't even know, even though it's my favorite TV show. I guess I'll say Lee Corso. No wait, he's not on Sportscenter. Just say Kenny Maine.
If you could be on any television show, which one would you be on? Nip Tuck. It's a big hit now.
Favorite song playing on the radio right now: "Whiskey Lullaby" by Brad Paisley.
If you could keep only one worldly possession what would it be? My dog, a golden retriever named Baylee.
Favorite thing about East Lansing and being in college: The hockey team.
CD that one would be most surprised to see gracing your collection? The New Kids on the Block. I have two older sisters, so that is why I have it. It's not even a CD it's a record; very old school.
Dream Date: Halle Berry.
Which actor would play you in a movie about yourself? Who is always angry? I know that the title would be "Angry Man." The producer of this movie would be Howie (teammate Tyler Howells) and who is an angry actor? Jack Nicholson, he's angry right?
What is the best birthday present that you have ever received? Airplane tickets to Marco Island.
What are you most looking forward to in your first year at State? Playing with these guys.
Which college rink are you most looking forward to play at? At Michigan.
Who is your favorite team member so far and why? Probably Drew Miller. I came here and stayed with him over the summer, so he is kind of like my big brother on the team.
What made you choose to play your college hockey at Michigan State? The tradition as well as the attitude and personalities of all of the guys on the team.
Do you have any unusual pre-game rituals? I am very superstitious. I can't even go through all of them. There are too many.
What is your most embarrassing moment? When I was 10 years old, I left my skateguards on going onto the ice for a game. I think I must have been out of it for that game.
If you could go anyplace in the world for a week with anyone you wanted, where would you go and who would accompany you? My grandfather, who has passed away. I never got a chance to meet him. We would be heading to the Cayman Islands.
You were the baseball team MVP your senior year of high school, what position did you play? Third base and shortstop.
What is something that you have promised yourself that you would do later on in life? Not to disappoint my family.
If you had a million dollars what is the first thing you would do with it? Pay my family for everything they have given me.
