Men's Tennis Completes Day Two Of Wolverine Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Michigan State men's tennis completed day two of the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor on Saturday, posting several wins over Michigan.
In morning singles matches, Spartan senior Andy Formanczyk defeated Wisconsin's Alex Kasarov, 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-3, in the No. 1 spot. Spartans Joseph McWilliams (No. 4), Brian Compton (No. 6) and Adam Monich (No. 7) all posted straight-set wins over Badgers in the morning singles.
In afternoon singles, MSU faced Notre Dame and captured three victories over the Irish. Formanczyk posted his second win of the day, defeating Stephen Bass, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. Spartan freshmen Nick Rinks and Brian Compton also managed to defeat Irish opponents.
The Spartans' success on Saturday followed a solid Green and White performance in the opening day of Wolverine Invitational play on Friday.
The Wolverine invite wraps up action Sunday, Oct. 17 at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor. MSU is slated tace Michigan for singles competition at 2 p.m.
