EAST LANSING, Mich. - Jordan Gruber (Sr./Beverly Hills) was selected as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer, the conference announced Monday, Sept. 6.
Gruber led the way offensively as the Spartans opened the season with three consecutive wins. In last Wednesday's 3-0 win at Bowling Green, the senior forward scored the game-winning goal for MSU and later recorded a second goal.
During the past weekend, he scored a goal and assisted on two others in the Spartans' 4-2 over St. Francis (Pa.). Gruber would score his fourth goal in five days in Sunday's 3-0 win over Western Illinois and lead the Spartans to their first MSU/Radisson Classic championship since 2001.
Michigan State will take on Dayton in a non-conference game at Old College Field on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 12 Noon.
