Michigan State Celebrates Homecoming Festivities

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State University athletics will celebrate homecoming festivities with eight home athletic contests this weekend. Beginning Friday, Oct. 21, the women's soccer team will play host to Minnesota at 3 p.m., while the Spartan swimming team welcomes Grand Valley State University in the opening event of the 2005-06 year at 5 p.m. The State volleyball team will face nationally-ranked Wisconsin at Jenison Field House in a 7 p.m. match-up where Family Fun Weekend activities allows fans to receive one free ticket with the purchase of one regular price ticket. Saturday activities begin when the MSU football team welcomes Northwestern to Spartan Stadium for the 12 p.m. match-up. Saturday action continues when both the Spartan field hockey and volleyball teams host Northwestern at 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively. Homecoming weekend comes to a close when the men's and women's soccer teams both face Penn State in Big Ten Conference action in a Sunday doubleheader. The day begins at 12 p.m. when the women face the Nittany Lions at Old College Field.
