MSU Crew Finishes Day At Notre Dame Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Michigan State rowing team performed well against the Michigan and Notre Dame crews on Saturday afternoon. In three events, the Spartans picked up two first-place and three second-place finishes. No team scores were tallied.
In the novice eight event, the `A' flight (16:08) finished behind only the `A' flight crew from Michigan (15:33.6). The `B' flight finished in 16:37.7, which earned it fifth place in the event. The `C' flight Spartan crew finished seventh with a time of 17:23.1.
In the varsity four event, the Spartans finished first (16:06.6) and second (16:32.1), with the Michigan `B' flight crew coming in a close third (16:46.3). The Spartan `A' flight came away with a sweeping victory, while the `B' flight finished second.
The Spartan varsity eights also finished first (14:03.4) and second (14:15.8). The `A' flight varsity eight finished first, the `B' flight finished second, and the Michigan `A' flight eight finished third (14:17.1).
The rowing team will travel to Wyandotte, Mich., next Sunday to appear in the Heritage Classic.
