MSU Diving Completes First Day At NCAA Diving Zones

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Sophomore Matt Akerley (Marquette, Mich.) and freshman Danielle Williams (Dorchester, Ontario) placed among the region's top divers as the Michigan State diving team opened its first day of competition at the NCAA Diving Zone C Qualifying Meet on the campus of Purdue University.
Akerley finished 16th in the one-meter board with a score of 499.50, while Williams earned an 18th-place finish with a mark of 402.40.
"I'm happy that Matt and Danielle made the finals on the first day of the diving zones," said MSU diving coach Eric Best. "We're looking see how well they will perform tomorrow."
The Spartans will conclude competition at the NCAA Zone C Meet on Saturday, March 12.
