Spartan Sports Zone To Debut This Sunday

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Spartan Sports Zone, Michigan State's 30-minute weekly TV show devoted to the athletics department, will debut for its sixth season on FSN Detroit on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. in its new time slot. The show takes a comprehensive look at all sports in the department and will be presented for the fourth-straight year by veteran host Dave Ellis.
The premiere show features an extensive tour of the new Spartan Stadium expansion, season previews for both the offense and defense on the 2005 Spartan football team, a sit-down interview with head coach John L. Smith, and a preview of the upcoming season for the volleyball and men's and women's soccer teams.
Spartan Sports Zone will repeat at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1. The show is scheduled to air 32 episodes running into April of 2006, with more encore presentations to be announced by FSN Detroit.
