Rinks Advances To Second Round Of ITA All-American Tournament

TULSA, Okla. - Michigan State junior Nick Rinks advanced to the second round of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships on Oct. 2 in Tulsa, Okla. Ranked No. 77 in the ITA preseason poll, Rinks defeated Tennessee's Ben Rogers, 6-3, 6-2. Rinks remains unbeaten with a 4-0 singles record this fall.
Rinks will face Northwestern's Willy Lock on Oct. 3. Lock advanced to the second round with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 victory over LSU's Jan Zelezny. The winner of round two will advance to the final round of the qualifying portion of the tournament on Oct. 4.
Rinks will also begin doubles play on Oct. 3, pairing up with Spartan teammate, junior Adam Monich. The two are ranked No. 43 in the nation and will face Southern California's Jason McNaughton-Kaes and Van't Hof.
