Monich and Rinks Advance In ITA Singles Play

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Juniors Adam Monich and Nick Rinks each picked up singles wins in the opening round of the ITA Midwest Regional, hosted by the University of Minnesota, on Oct. 20. The pair also advanced to the second round in doubles play a day earlier.
Monich defeated Western Michigan's Alex Birchmeier (6-2, 6-4), while Rinks downed a conference opponent in Northwestern's Alexei Evstratemiwv (7-5, 6-4). Monich's record improves to 3-2 and Rinks moves to 6-1 on the season.
Both Monich and Rinks will continue play on Oct. 22. Monich will face Louisville's Slavko Radman and Rinks will play Northern Illinois' Brian Livingston.
