What is the most difficult part about playing your position?
"The most difficult part about my position is the fact that when you're actually in a game, you're trying to block everything out and simply concentrate on the task at hand. As a punter, you don't really get the chance to get into the flow of the game like position players do. You come in right off the bench and have to deliver. Focus is the key because you can't worry about the rushers or what the other team is trying to do. It's important to have tunnel vision."
What did you work on this spring?
"This spring I worked a lot of little things, technique type of stuff. I worked on my drop, my swing and becoming a little more consistent. I worked on correcting the small things to improve the bigger picture."
Does having former Spartan punter Craig Jarrett back on campus help?
"It helps a lot in the fact that he has already been through it. He knows exactly what I have been going through. He spent some time in the NFL, so he has pro experience. Also, he adds an extra set of eyes to see what I'm doing and provide little pointers here and there."
What are some goals you have set for yourself this season?
"Personally, I want to get back on top of the Big Ten statistics and be named first-team All-Big Ten by both the media and coaches. As for the special teams, we need to get back to the days when we were a force to be reckoned with - something opposing teams really had to worry about."
Name something about you that even a lot of your teammates don't know?
"Before I came to Michigan State, I was a big Northwestern fan because my dad played basketball there."
If someone gave you $100, what would you do with it?
"I would probably save it. If not, I'd buy some food."
Where has been your favorite place to play outside of Spartan Stadium?
"It would have to be either Ohio State or Notre Dame. I have consistently had good games against Ohio State on the big stage in Columbus, and I recorded my longest career punt at Notre Dame."
What has been your most memorable punt?
"My freshman year, I hit a 79-yarder at Notre Dame."
Who is the best punter of all time?
"That's easy: Ray Guy."
What are your plans after this year?
"I will continue to work out and get ready for the 2007 NFL Draft."
