Big Ten Foreign Tour Team Splits Two Opening Contests

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Big Ten Men's Basketball Foreign Tour team split its first two games of a four-game tour in Australia over the weekend. On Saturday, the Big Ten squad fell to the West Sydney Razorbacks Basketball Club, 117-91. On Sunday, the conference team bounced back with a 97-89 victory over the Sydney Kings Basketball Club. After a pair of games in Sydney, the tour will move to Brisbane for the final two games.
Michigan State sophomore guard Travis Walton (Lima, Ohio) averaged 6.0 points and 2.5 assists in the two games. Walton started against West Sydney and tallied eight points, shooting 3-of-9 from the field, including 2-of-5 from 3-point range, adding four assists and one steal. Against the Sydney Kings, Walton recorded four points, one rebound and one assist.

After a day off on Monday, the Big Ten team will return to action on Tuesday against the Brisbane Bullets, followed by a Wednesday contest against the South District Spartans.
