MSU's Bader Invited To ITA Pre-Qualifying Singles Draw

Christine Bader is set to compete in doubles and singles at the ITA Tournament.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State junior tennis player Christine Bader has been invited to compete at the pre-qualifying singles draw of the 2006 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships. The pre-qualifying round will be held at UCLA from Sept. 30-Oct. 1 Eight singles players from the pre-qualifying round and 58 at-large selections will play in the qualifying round held Oct. 3-4 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Eight players from the qualifying round will advance to the main draw on Oct. 5-8 in addition to 24 at-large main draw selections.

Bader was initially named an alternate for singles, but has since been invited to compete in singles. She will also be competing in the pre-qualifying doubles draw with MSU teammate and co-captain, Sarah Andrews. Bader was a 2006 All-Big Ten First Team member, pacing the Spartans at No. 1 singles last season with a 13-10 record.
