FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Michigan State's Jonathon Allen posted a 14.49-meter (47-6 1/2) triple jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships, hosted by the University of Arkansas, Saturday evening. In his first appearance at the indoor meet, the sophomore posted one fair jump and fouled twice.
"This was a good experience for Jon (Allen)," assistant coach Chris Bostwick said. "He still has two years left and I'm sure he will improve in the following years."
Louisville's Andre Black won the event with a jump of 16.29 meters (53-5). Allen finished in 13th place overall.
The Spartans begin the outdoor season in two weeks when they travel to the Auburn Invitational, held in Auburn, Ala., on March 23-24.
