
Kyle Day Succeeding This Summer In Cape Cod League

CAPE COD, Mass. - In just his first season competing in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, Michigan State rising junior Kyle Day was among 44 collegiate players selected to play in the league's 45th All-Star Game. His East-Division squad was victorious, 3-2, in front of more than 5,500 fans and over 100 Major League Baseball scouts at Wareham's Spillane Field.
Day, who is playing for the Harwich Mariners, leads the team in on-base percentage (.367), runs scored (18), stolen bases (8), triples (2), and walks (18). He is also hitting .267 to go along with three home runs and 11 RBI. Day must feel at home behind the dish, where in 10 games as catcher, he is hitting .308.
The Fort Wayne, Ind., native is the only Mariner from the Big Ten Conference, and is one of nine conference players in the league. There are currently 14 active-major league players who competed for the Mariners at one point in their careers.
