MSU Student-Athletes Named Academic All-Big Ten

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Sixty-six Michigan State student-athletes in seven sports were named Academic All-Big Ten for the fall athletic season, as announced by the Big Ten office earlier this week.
Women's soccer led the way with 15 honorees, while football and women's cross country each had 11 players honored. Field hockey had a team-record 10 honorees, men's cross country and men's soccer both had seven, and volleyball rounded out the fall lineup with five honorees.
The conference also recognized nine students with perfect 4.0 grade point averages, including women's soccer junior Megan Brown (Portage), who is majoring in human biology.
In all, the Big Ten recognized 680 student-athletes for their success in the classroom. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten consideration, student-athletes must earn a varsity letter, be in at least their second academic year at a Big Ten institution and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
