EAST LANSING, Mich. - Head coach Matt Weise of the Big Ten Champion rowing squad has announced that the team will hold an informational meeting for anyone interested in becoming a member of the MSU rowing program as a rower or coxswain. Two meetings are scheduled, the first of which will be held on September 3 at 5:30 p.m. while the second is on September 4 at 5:30 p.m. Both will be held at the Clara Bell Smith Center.
Weise encourages anyone with any type of leadership experience to attend the meeting. Although there are no height or weight restrictions, it is preferred that rowers be 5-8 or taller. Coxswains are preferred to be 115 pounds or lighter.
Anyone interested in trying out should plan to attend the meeting. If any interested athlete has had a physical in the past 12 months, they should plan to bring a copy to the meeting. If a hard copy is not available, then a physician's contact information should be provided.
If there are any questions, feel free to e-mail Scott Travis at traviss@msu.edu.
