Kalin Lucas scored 23 points on 7-for-21 shooting and has now scored at least 20 points in seven games this season and eight times in his career. His 21 field-goal attempts were a career high.
Goran Suton's two three-pointers today tied a career high.
Michigan State has not lost back-to-back home games since December 1997 it fell to Temple, 56-54 (Dec. 4) and Detroit, 68-65 (Dec. 13).
Today marked the first time this season the Spartans committed fewer turnovers than their opponent and lost the game. MSU is now 9-1 when committing fewer turnovers than its opponents.
Penn State improved to 15-0 this season when leading at halftime.
The Nittany Lions' win was their first ever in East Lansing (1-16). MSU leads the all-time series with Penn State, 26-5.
