Women's Golf Continues Action At Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The 20th-ranked Michigan State women's golf team continued action in the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge Tuesday afternoon at the Palos Verdes Country Club, shooting a team score of 320 in the second round of the tournament. The Spartans will enter Wednesday's final round in 10th place with a 636 (316-320). The competitive 16-team tournament features nine ranked teams, including four in the top 10.
Junior Laura Kueny is MSU's individual leader after two rounds. Kueny carded a 79 in the second round and is tied for 17th overall with a 14-over 156 (77-79).
Sophomore Aimee Neff started her round strong with three pars and two birdies on the front nine for a 2-over 37. She compiled a 42 on the back nine, finishing 8-over with a 79. Overall, Neff is in a tie for 22nd at 15-over (78-79--157).
Sophomore Michelle Bowles improved by one stroke on her Monday score, entering the clubhouse with an 80. After two rounds, Bowles' total of 161 (+19) is tied for 42nd.
Senior Holly Niederkohr also improved her score in the second round to round out MSU's team scoring, producing an 82. Niederkohr has a score of 165 (+23) after two rounds.
Freshman Lindsey Solberg shot an 87 on Tuesday and is at 167 (+25) for the tournament.
