Women's Golf Completes Action at Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic

ATHENS, Ga. - The No. 17 Michigan State women's golf team tied for 15th at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic held Sunday at the University of Georgia Golf Course. The tournament, which was shortened to just one round of play due to rain, featured 10 teams ranked in the top 25 of the Sagarin/Golfweek ratings, including four in the top 10. MSU shot a 318 (+30) in the tournament's only round.
Sophomore Michelle Bowles led the way for the Spartans with a 78 (+6) to tie for 39th place. Aimee Neff tied for 50th with a 7-over 79, while Lindsey Solberg tied for 60th with an 8-over 80. Laura Kueny carded an 81 and Natalie Brehm rounded out the lineup with an 85.
Playing as an individual, Shannon Warner shot an 84.
The Spartans return to action April 3-5 for the Bryan National Collegiate in Browns Summitt, N.C. The tournament is hosted by Wake Forest.
